ProLogis scraps hub plans

Developer ProLogis has scrapped plans for a rail freight distribution hub at the former Parkside Colliery site in St Helens, Merseyside. The proposed development had been expected to create up to 7,000 jobs for the area, according to St Helens Council. Plans for the hub were first submitted in October 2006, and a scaled-back masterplan was released in April this year.
