Welfare-to-work reforms limited vacancies

The Government's welfare-to-work reforms will "struggle" because of a lack of job vacancies, a report says. The study, by think-tank the Institute for Public Policy Research, says that there are now 330,000 fewer job vacancies in the UK than there are long-term unemployed people. The think-tank says that this jobs deficit could undermine the coalition's plans to introduce its single welfare-to-work initiative, the Work Programme. regen.net/news/1032745
