Government Office opts against Tesco inquiry

The Government Office for the North-East has opted against holding a public inquiry into retailer Tesco's outline planning application to build a store at Sunderland Retail Park. The decision means that Sunderland City Council can now approve the application, subject to a number of conditions being met.
