Pickles calls in Liverpool Welsh Streets demolition plans
Communities secretary Eric Pickles has called in controversial plans to demolish up to 440 homes in the Welsh Streets area of Liverpool, but similar plans for a site in Gateshead will not be called in, the government has announced.
