COMMUNITY RENEWAL NEWS: Employment facility set afloat

A Yorkshire-based social enterprise has just completed its first canal barge renovation and is now set to take to the waters as a floating training facility for underprivileged youths. Fresh Horizons, which helps the long-term unemployed learn new skills and get back into work, won a contract from the Bradford Motor Education Project to return the Lancashire Enterprise barge (above) to its former glory. All of the work was completed by trainees on the scheme, who are training for careers as joiners, plasterers, electricians and plumbers.
