COMMUNITY RENEWAL BRIEF: Democracy satisfaction higher in ethnic mix communities
Satisfaction with democracy is likely to be higher in communities with an ethnic mix of population and where people trust each other, according to a report published last week by think-tank the Economic and Social Research Council. The report explores the relationship between democratic participation and a range of social characteristics, and says that satisfaction with life is likely to be higher in communities in which people are attached to their neighbourhoods.
