COMMUNITY RENEWAL NEWS: Kids to clean up the community

School-aged street wardens are being used to tackle anti-social behaviour in Southampton. The junior neighbourhood wardens will work alongside Southampton City Council's official neighbourhood wardens to improve their local community, participating in regular events such as litter picks and graffiti cleaning. The scheme is being piloted in the Millbrook area of the city, and funding has been provided by the Southampton West Neighbourhood Partnership. To entice children into the scheme, the council is offering them the opportunity to participate in free leisure and sports activities.
