A Hackney man who found a job after being out of work for 12 years was named jobseeker of the year at last week's London Employer Coalition Awards. Ian Lewis became a tree surgeon after joining a New Deal horticultural course. The Metropolitan Police Service won employer of the year for its partnership work in filling civilian vacancies.
