OPINION: Poor want more pay, not power

It's become pertinent to talk of a growing disaffection with party politics. Falling membership of parties and low electoral turnout have been the result of a convergence to the centre-right, with voters feeling they have little choice - indeed, that choices are imposed on them by the dwindled ranks of those active in political parties.
