STOP PRESS: The Government paved the way this week for a surge of large casino developments ...

The Government paved the way this week for a surge of large casino developments around the country as it published proposals to reform gambling law. The draft Gambling Bill proposes steps to deregulate the industry that would allow developers to build casinos above 500sq metres in size. Independent research commissioned by Blackpool District Council this week claimed that its plans to transform the seaside town into a gaming resort could generate £437million annually and create 30,000 jobs. The Bill can be viewed at www.culture.gov.uk.
