The Government's Housing Bill should include provision for local authorities to take over the temporary management of private properties which have been empty for more than six months, according to campaign group the Empty Homes Agency and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. The organisations say the move would help provide housing for homeless families and key workers.
