COMMUNITY RENEWAL NEWS: Woolwich has a wheely good party

Residents of the Connaught Estate in Woolwich, south-east London, last week celebrated the opening of a skate park with a multi-cultural food festival and displays of art by local people. The festivities included face-painting, balloon modelling, puppets, a skate display and live music. A range of organisations, including environmental charity Groundwork, the Woolwich Common Neighbourhood Management Team, the Connaught Tenants' Association (CTA) and Sure Start worked with local residents to develop the skate park project.
