ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NEWS: Data check - Country's cost-of-living divide widens
Differences in the cost of living across the UK have widened over the last three years, new figures from the Office for National Statistics reveal. In the North-East, the cheapest region, prices were 91.5 per cent of the national average in 2003, compared to 95.3 per cent in 2000.
