NEWS BRIEF: ODPM official admits Government slow

An ODPM official this week admitted that the Government has been slow in starting to deliver new housing promised in its Sustainable Communities Plan. Assistant director of urban policy Jeff Channing also said that there were too many delivery bodies in the Thames Gateway, but added that the ODPM had begun to address the problem by stream-lining its own operation.
