COMMUNITY RENEWAL NEWS: Call for more BME wardens

Regeneration minister Jeff Rooker last week called on more people from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities to become neighbourhood wardens. Speaking at a conference in Birmingham, aimed at sharing best practice between wardens programmes, Rooker said: "By opening the warden family to the wider BME community, not only do you engage the BME community, but you also help to consolidate it within the wider neighbourhood renewal agenda to improve the quality of life for all."
