Movie boost for tourism

Government tourism adviser VisitBritain aims to capitalise on the current Hollywood movie on Britain's seafaring past by promoting the UK as a world centre for maritime history. VisitBritain and 20th Century Fox, makers of Master and Commander - the Far Side of the World, based on the novels by Patrick O'Brian, are to publish a guide tracing the UK's 800-year naval legacy. The guide will take the form of an online "movie map" showing attractions such as the World Heritage Site at Greenwich, home of the Cutty Sark (above), and HMS Victory and the Mary Rose in Portsmouth.
