COMMUNITY RENEWAL NEWS: Southampton scoops sustainable sculpture

Young people in the Outer Shirley district of Southampton last week unveiled a piece of sculpture that has been created using recyclable materials. Funded by the Outer Shirley Regeneration programme, the project has been managed by the Southampton Sustainability Forum and hosted by the local environment centre to raise awareness about sustainability issues among young people. The young artists who created the sculpture (above) all belong to the youth action group, which provides activities for under-16s in the Outer Shirley area.
