NEWS BRIEF: First toll motorway opens

Britain's first toll motorway opened this week. Transport secretary Alistair Darling cut the ribbon on the first phase of the 27 mile M6 toll road. Drivers will be charged £2 to use the road which has been built to ease congestion on the adjacent M6. Phased opening of the toll road will be complete by the end of the week.
