The Northern Way strategy unveiled last week makes it clear that radical steps are needed to bring prosperity and improved housing to the North. Ben Willis looks at the implications for communities potentially in the path of bulldozers. While woolly and aspirational in some parts, the Northern Way economic blueprint is unequivocal in others. With a mission statement to close the prosperity gap between the North and South, the plan, published last week, makes it clear that nothing will change without radical steps to improve housing in the three northern regions.
