Economic development news brief: Appointment at VisitBritain

The former head of British Airways has been appointed chair of tourism agency VisitBritain. Lord Marshall, who was chief executive of BA for 13 years until 1996, will succeed current VisitBritain chair Sir Michael Lickiss from January. VisitBritain was formed from the merger of the British Tourist Authority and the English Tourism Council in 2003.
