Holyrood's £100m housing pledge 'not enough'

The Scottish Executive has been criticised for failing to live up to its promises on affordable housing, despite pledging an annual increase of £100 million into the sector in its three-year budget, announced this week. The review also stopped short of giving a green light to the new rail link from Edinburgh to the Scottish borders, despite announcing investment of £3 billion in capital infrastructure. The link, which has been hit by delays, is seen as vital to the successful development of the borders.
