Turning point: Mentor's efforts give a head start

It was a man called Harold who had an early impact on my career path after I left school and started work as a laboratory technician in the construction industry. Harold's son was a quantity surveyor and from listening to him I decided that surveying might be a good career path, so I went to college, trained as a surveyor and eventually joined the housing department at Leicester City Council.
