Physical Regeneration News: Rotunda renovation

Plans to renovate city centre landmark the Rotunda have been approved by Birmingham City Council. The proposals by developer Urban Splash and local partnership the Birmingham Alliance are intended to transform the 22-storey office block into 234 apartments. Designed by Birmingham-based Glenn Howells Architects, the apartments have already attracted interest from prospective buyers and a waiting list has been drawn up. Urban Splash development manager Nathan Cornish said: "In the same way the Bullring has transformed shopping in Birmingham, the Rotunda will set a new standard for city centre living."
