The Pathways to Work scheme

More than twice as many incapacity benefit claimants in a pilot scheme found work compared with people on incapacity benefit in areas without pilots, the Department for Work and Pensions announced this week. The Pathways to Work scheme requires new claimants to attend work-focused interviews with advisers, but offers access to NHS rehabilitation support and a £40-a-week return to work credit.
