Vegas vision for Wembley

Plans for a Las Vegas-style gambling resort adjacent to Wembley Stadium in north-west London were unveiled last week. Quintain Estates, which already has outline planning permission for a £1.3 billion regeneration scheme in the area, has entered into a joint venture agreement with Caesars Entertainment. Plans include a 400-room hotel, restaurants, bars, retail outlets and 75,000sq feet of gambling space accommodating 110 gambling tables and 1,250 slot machines in line with the draft gambling bill. Brent Council and the Greater London Authority have already identified Wembley as a key leisure destination. A spokesman for the Department for Culture, Media and Sports said the draft gambling bill should be introduced later this month.
