Shetland project awarded funds

A Shetland community project has been awarded £22,000 from the lottery-sponsored Scottish Land Fund for the purchase and redevelopment of a former knitwear factory. The Eid Development Project will use the cash to refurbish the derelict building to create a village meeting point, with a community co-operative shop and post office, plus facilities for small businesses, social and leisure activities.
