English Partnership wins outline planning permission

National regeneration agency English Partnerships last week won outline planning permission from Sunderland City Council for 350 homes on the 61ha site of the former Lambton Cokeworks near the city. It has also appointed contractor Mowlem to carry out the £19 million site remediation. The site still requires further planning approval from deputy prime minister John Prescott as the development diverges from the unitary plan.
