Transport operators face increasing competition

Transport operators face increasing competition from the private car because their existing core markets are shrinking, a report warns. The Commission for Integrated Transport study, published this week, says that the existing market for public transport is declining for economic and demographic reasons, and will eventually reduce to uneconomically low levels.
