Regional gambling may pay off

There are some things I just don't believe in. The French Resistance is one. What resistance? There was no resistance, with or without a capital R. Similarly, that mystery virus ME, or 'Middle England' syndrome, as we should call it, as it's largely about feckless graduates too posh to be merely depressed like single mothers on windswept estates. Another mystery virus for which there is no basis in nature is the belief possessed also by the college 'educated' classes that the Lyons review will deliver regeneration to regions further than two shopping hours away from London.
