Top prize for Peabody
A modular housing development in east London last week won the Best Practice Award at the 2004 British Construction Industry (BCI) Awards. Raines Court (above), developed by housing association the Peabody Trust, beat 34 other projects to take the award, which is given to schemes that respond to client needs, support team working and maintain continuous improvement. In their appraisal the judges said: "Peabody is leading the housing field once again - proving that prefabricated units can be used to create high quality flats for sale. A first."
