Pilot project launched in London boroughs

A pilot project to encourage parents and pupils to walk to school at least once a week was launched in six London boroughs last week. The Walk on Wednesdays pilot is based on schemes operating in two London areas and supplies prizes for pupils as an incentive. The scheme will be made available nationally from January 2005.
