Pottering in the park
Children planted flower bulbs at the opening of a community park in Middlesbrough this week. The West Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Trust has invested £200,000 in the creation of Carter Park, backed up with £50,000 of Big Lottery Fund money via the Countryside Agency's Doorstep Green programme. The park, built on the site of a former blind school, will be decorated with hanging baskets created by local residents, and mosaics depicting local scenes.
