The art of angling

Fishing enthusiasts can now use the canal at the Swinton Lock Activity Centre for angling, following an investment from government watchdog the Environment Agency. The grant comes as part of a package that includes funding from Rotherham Partnership Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) to convert old garages into workshops for arts-related businesses. The funding has also allowed an area of wasteland to be transformed into a community park. A previous SRB grant helped to start the Swinton Lock Activity Centre project and set up its multimedia suite.
