Inn the party mood
A fireworks display last week marked the official reopening of the only pub in the UK that has been funded by the New Deal for Communities programme. Around 500 people attended the event to celebrate the reopening of the Blue Boy in Derby, which has had a £300,000 refit. As well as the fireworks display, a performer and face painter entertained children. Antony Baines, manager of community enterprise Derwent Delivers, said: "The attendance of so many local people helps to reinforce just how important this initiative is and will continue to be for the community."
