Emrys Jones to leave Birmingham City Council

Chief planning officer Emrys Jones has announced that he will be leaving Birmingham City Council when his contract expires at the end of March 2005. He became chief planning officer in 1999 having first joined the council in 1980. Following Jones' decision, the council is to create a new post of director of planning and regeneration.
