Government plans to cut Welsh budget
The Government is planning to cut the Welsh budget for a housing support programme for vulnerable people by £13.5 million, according to the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA). The cut in the Supporting People scheme is equivalent to a 10 per cent reduction in budget, and compares to a 7 per cent cut in England. The WLGA said in a statement that the cut would lead to increases in homelessness, crime, poverty and domestic violence.
