Work begins on redevelopment of Paradise Street area in Liverpool

Work began this week on the redevelopment of the Paradise Street area in Liverpool, the biggest retail development in Europe. The 17ha project, due to be completed by 2008 when Liverpool becomes European Capital of Culture, involves 30 new buildings, about 149,000 sq metres of retail space, 465 residential units and 3,000 car parking spaces.
