Leadership may be out of reach in skills search

The skills shortage in regeneration is one of the sector's most analysed phenomena, acknowledged by the Government and rued by professionals as the biggest barrier facing the industry. A succession of studies has tried to pin the issue down, most recently Sir John Egan's report on so-called sustainable skills. This week we flesh out some of his findings in a survey that attempts to identify the extent of the problem from the point of view of practitioners (see Special Report, p18).
