London mayor wants to increase congestion charge

London mayor Ken Livingstone wants to increase the congestion charge in the capital from £5 to £8. Livingstone has asked Transport for London, the body that controls public transport in the capital, to consult on the measure, which would create an additional £50 million for London each year. If approved, it would come into effect next July.
