Government to spend extra £140 million

The Government is to spend an extra £140 million on its Warm Front initiative, its main weapon against fuel poverty. Launching its Fuel Poverty in England strategy this week, environment secretary Margaret Beckett outlined the Government's plans to eradicate fuel poverty in vulnerable households by 2010.
