Working for racial harmony

A workshop designed to promote greater understanding and appreciation of South Asian cultural traditions among young people on a white majority population estate in Yorkshire took place this week. Young people from the Holme Wood estate (pictured above) joined in with the workshop, which was run by the Churches Regional Commission for Yorkshire and the Humber. South Asian artist Avtar Singh Lota appeared in traditional dress and demonstrated classical and folk music on the dilruba - a four-stringed instrument played with a bow.
