Health services suffer from the same ailments

You read a horror story here a couple of months ago about the trials of a friend discharged prematurely from hospital after a leg injury (Regeneration & Renewal, 8 October, p18). In case you were wondering: she finally got the date for her operation. Packed and ready to go, that morning she had a call saying it was cancelled. No new date came.
