Edinburgh tram scheme

Planning gain could be used to plug the funding gap in the proposed Edinburgh tram scheme, the city council has revealed. Council bosses are looking at ways to use developer contributions to help build the tram, which is likely to cost at least £539 million. The estimated cost has risen by up to 14 per cent since 2003.
