A breakdown of how the £500 million England's local education authorities get each year from the Department for Education and Skill to improve school buildings is to be spent has been revealed by the department. The 2006/07 Targeted Capital Fund, which is in addition to the long-term Building Schools for the Future programme, will pay for 90 local authority improvement schemes and six music and dance projects amongst others, the department said.
