The Government's approach to capitalising on the commercial potential of university research is too focused on creating spin-out companies, the boss of a consortium of Yorkshire universities told the conference. White Rose University Consortium chief executive Julian White said "the appropriate route to commercialisation in most instances is licensing, not spin-outs".
