Wilson Bowden to develop Barnsley Markets scheme

The Barnsley Markets retail and leisure scheme is to be developed by housebuilding company Wilson Bowden. The firm is focusing on mixed-use schemes in the north of England. It was chosen by developer Ashcroft Estates, housing developer Guildhouse Group, Barnsley council and regional development agency Yorkshire Forward after original developer and funding partner Multiplex withdrew in April.
