London railway

The planned east-west London railway will not stop at Woolwich, the Department for Transport has decided, despite the conclusions of a committee of MPs which said it should go ahead. The Department for Transport said the £200 million cost "could not be justified," but Greenwich Council said the decision "beggars belief."
