Heritage scheme

A scheme to bring vacant heritage buildings back into use in Penistone in South Yorkshire has been agreed by Barnsley council and the Government's built environment conservation adviser. English Heritage and regional development agency Yorkshire Forward have pledged £335,000 over the next three years for the Area Partnership Scheme and another initiative to improve shopfronts in the town.
