Lone parents scheme

Lone parents on benefits will be £20 a week better off if they take active steps to find a job under a pilot to be launched next April, the Department for Work and Pensions said last week. The Work Related Activity Premium (Wrap) will be offered for six months to lone parents with children aged 11 and over. The scheme will operate in New Deal Plus for Lone Parents pilot areas.
