Innovations: Scheme gets homeless on rental ladder
A new scheme to help homeless people and those living in temporary housing access private sector rented accommodation has been set up by Sheffield City Council. The Private Rented Solutions project is intended to provide settled housing for the priority homeless, most of whom are families. Under the scheme, prospective tenants are entitled to financial assistance to meet initial costs - such as a deposit - associated with accessing the private rental market.
